Marines Helping Marines

Detachment 260 follows the tradition of the Marine Corp League in helping wounded Marines and their families.  This priority comes from the true brother hood of Honorably serving in the Corp. Marines feel a heightened sense of urgency when a fellow Marine needs assistance. As Marine Corp Vets many members have had to endure these hard moments of dealing with combat wounds and the mental trauma that comes with them.

Members of the detachment visit these wounded Marines while in the hospital to help them in many ways to make the transition back into their families and society. Medical care is expensive and also presents a heavy burden on the family that may last many years.

The League performs fund raisers during the year to help in these cost to the wounded and there families however it doesn't stop there. We also help Marines from all campaigns be it WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and Iraq.
We are very honored to attend funeral services of Marines that may not be in touch with the league, to us they are still a Marine.

Funds Solicited by Volunteer Marines with Prior Service of the Greater Greensboro Detachment 260 go to the following:

  • Wounded Marines from Iraq and Afghanistan or other hostile zones Hospitalized in Bethesda, MD, Balboa-San Diego and San Antonio.

  • Assistance to Local MC Reserve Unit and Families While Deployed to Combat Zones
